OUR STORY

Columbia Supreme was founded in 2018 by Anthony Johnson, a Columbia, Missouri native with a passion for making basketball accessible to all. Growing up, Anthony’s family couldn’t afford the high costs of traditional traveling basketball teams. Still, his determination to play never wavered—he found ways to play on any neighborhood court he could.

When Anthony began exploring ways to remove barriers for young athletes in his community, he realized finances weren’t the only challenge. Gender also played a role: opportunities for girls to pursue competitive basketball were limited in the area.

Determined to change that, Anthony built Columbia Supreme with a mission to serve both low-income athletes and young women who wanted a fair chance to compete.

Since its founding, Columbia Supreme has grown to support more than 80 athletes each year and proudly celebrated its first graduating high school class in 2024.
